Beginner Wheel Throwing

6 Week Course

Wednesday evening Beginner Wheel Throwing 

Wednesdays from 6-9pm

October 16th - November 20th

In this class, taught by Charmed Ceramics owner & operator Kayla Kirk, students will learn the basics of wheel throwing (centering, pulling up, shaping, trimming) and glaze application. 

Who should take this class? 

The class is best suited for adults (18+) who have never thrown with clay before or those who would like to review the basics. 

Class includes

  • 3 hours of weekly instruction

  • Glazes, underglazes, and firings 

  • A small studio shelf

  • The first 25 pounds of clay

  • All tools needed to create and glaze pottery 

  • All students must agree to the following upon registering for a class or workshop at Charmed Ceramics:

    Waivers and Safety for Ceramic Classes:

    Wheel throwing is not suitable for students with PaceMakers. Please consult your physician before registering for a Wheel Throwing workshop.

    Students will follow all instructions by teacher

    Long hair should be tied back.

    Do not wear articles of clothing or jewelry that hang off the body.

    Do not use any equipment without a staff member present.

    Liability Waiver

    In connection with my involvement in ceramic classes at Charmed Ceramics, I hereby release Charmed Ceramics, its agents, representatives, successors, or assignees, Charmed Ceramics management and employees, from all liabilities, actions, claims, damages, demands, costs, and expenses which I am now or in the future have against them, arising out of or in any way connected with my participation in art classes, including enroute to or from the program or its related events. I understand that the waiver includes, but is not limited to, all injuries to me and or loss of injuries to any personal property. I also understand that this waiver includes, but is not limited to, any claims that are based on my alleged negligence or any other action or inaction of any of the above parties.

    I also give Charmed Ceramics permission to publish in print, electronic, or video format the likeness or image of myself and/or my work for the general promotion of Charmed Ceramics and its programs.

    By enrolling in a class or workshop, I am acknowledging that I have read and understand the safety instructions and the liability waiver that have been outlined.

    Street parking available, please arrive early to allow time to park. Street parking is free after 6pm.

  • Purchases are not transferable. No refund will be issued during the first week of class. Charmed Ceramics is under no obligation to reschedule classes canceled upon the closure of the facility due to inclement weather, power outages, misunderstanding of schedule, Covid shutdown, and/or personal schedule shifts. There is no guarantee that a make-up class will be offered. Classes will not be prorated to accommodate a missed class, nor will refunds be issued.
